Hi friends. I’m Shelby Rankin, a graphic designer from Orange County with five years of experience in the industry and a lifelong passion for creative expression. My journey started as a kid who loved making art, crafting, and even designing my own clothes. That early love for creativity grew with me, eventually evolving into a passion for storytelling through writing, where I began developing short stories and conceptual ideas that still inspire my work today. Photography became my next outlet and it taught me the technical side of visual storytelling. It helped me realize how powerful and personal a creative vision can be.

While studying in school, I felt drawn to digital art and began exploring videography. Although I didn’t have the experience to dive headfirst into motion design, I realized that everything starts with a strong foundation. That’s when I committed myself to learning the fundamentals of graphic design:branding, typography, composition, and technique. Along the way, I found a community of artists and classmates who quickly became collaborators, muses, and friends. It was in that environment that I truly fell in love with design not just for the work itself, but for the shared energy, the collaboration, and the deep fulfillment that comes from creating something meaningful together.

My work primarily revolves around merchandise, print, and digital marketing. I’ve learned to say yes to opportunities, even the ones that didn’t seem exciting at first. It was through those simpler tasks that I grew the most, sharpening my technical skills and expanding my creative toolkit. That growth taught me to value the smaller details, not just in the design itself, but in the structure and strategy behind a campaign. I’ve come to understand that good design isn’t just about visuals; it’s about knowing the “why” and “how” behind how it’s presented to the world..
